Isacsoft Internet Explorer Security Setup

You must prepare Internet Explorer to accept the download of essential ActiveX components. In most cases, this means that some security options may have to be changed. If you wish, you may print this page to keep by you while you carry out the necessary changes to the security setup.

From the View menu of Internet Explorer, choose
Internet Options...

The Internet Options dialogue screen displays.

Select the 'Security' tab.

Select 'Trusted sites zone' from the list of choices in the Zone: field.

Select the 'Custom' option in the lower panel and single-click the 'Settings' button. (shown below)

The Security Settings window appears. Here, you may specify how you want to handle certain actions, files, programmes or downloads.
For the purposes of this setup procedure, you only need to concern yourself with the first five settings in the list.
Each of these is related to the way Internet Explorer deals with ActiveX components.

As shown in the illustration (opposite), select the 'Enable' option for each of the first five entries under 'ActiveX Controls and plugins'. The options you enable are to:

  • Download unsigned ActiveX controls

  • Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
  • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
  • Download signed ActiveX controls
  • Run ActiveX controls and plugins

Once each option is enabled, click 'OK' to close the Security Settings window and return to the Internet Options dialogue screen.

In the Internet Options dialogue, click the 'Add Sites' button. Ensure that the new dialogue that opens is entitled 'Trusted sites zone'.
